Umbria, located in the Heart of Italy, is known as “the Green Umbria” thanks to its astonishing and iconic Olive Trees Hills.

We celebrate the land starting with our name: “Costa” means “Hill” in our local dialect and “Oro” stands for “Gold“. “Green Gold” is the way olive oil was once referred to.

We are located in Spoleto, a UNESCO heritage site where the food and wine cultures blend together in full harmony.

Our story beings in 1968 when two Umbrian families decided to team up to create a high-quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) following the traditional methods, respecting and enhancing the territory’s uniqueness. 

Today, Costa d’Oro an Italian leader in the Extra Virgin Olive Oil and with a strong heritage in the Unfiltered and Organic segments.

The signature of the strategic alliance with Group Avril in 2018, which owns a majority share of Costa d’Oro, created the third Global Olive Oil Brand. This agreement reinforces our international ambition to become the ambassadors of the Italian Olive Oil culture.

We select olives directly from the land, selecting the best harvest to guarantee the quality of our extra virgin olive oils.

We boast the first internal certified panel group of trained olive oil professionals, which is recognized by the Italian Minister of Agriculture and the Italian Oil Association (Assitol), both of which take into account all organoleptic qualities.

As far as production is concerned, we comply with certified production processes, which are monitored by external bodies, so as to ensure superior quality in terms of raw materials selection, manufacturing and final products is achieved.

Currently, we comply with strict regulations aimed at ensuring both our olive oil and our production processes are of high quality.

As for organic products, we specifically work according to different protocols as provided for by the countries where products will be sold. And this is shown by all the certifications that we were given thanks to the thorough checks on raw materials contamination carried out by our internal analysis laboratory.

Moreover, in an attempt to further show how committed we are to this cause, we voluntarily check over 250 parameters so as to make sure we comply with organic-product-related regulations.
